In the preparation department, you work together with 4 colleagues. You make individual components to size from large sheets or blocks of foam, wood, or other materials. These components are later used to produce sandwich panels.

Your tasks include:

Checking the parts list (a type of work instruction) to see what needs to be made
Cutting the material to size using your own saw table
Using a thickness planer to ensure the material has the exact required thickness
Assigning a number to each component so it is clear where it belongs
Placing the components neatly on a cart so they can easily be moved to the next department
Keeping your workplace clean and organized
Paying close attention, as every day is different—the panel sizes vary constantly
