In the preparation department, you will work with four colleagues. You will cut individual parts to size from large sheets or blocks of foam, wood or other materials. These parts are needed to make sandwich panels later on.

Your tasks will be:

You will check the parts list (a kind of work description) to see what you need to make.
You will cut the material to size using your own saw table.
You use a machine (thicknesser) to ensure that the material is cut to exactly the right thickness.
You give each component a number so that it is clear where it belongs.
You place the components neatly on a trolley so that they can be easily transported to the next department.
You keep your workplace clean and tidy.
Every day is different because the sizes of the panels vary. That is why it is important to pay close attention.
