In the preparation department, you work together with 4 colleagues. You make separate parts to size from large sheets or blocks of foam, wood, or other materials. These parts are needed later to produce sandwich panels.

Your tasks:

You check the parts list (a kind of work instruction) to see what needs to be made.

You cut the material to size using your own table saw.

You use a machine (planer/thicknesser) to ensure the material has the exact required thickness.

You assign each part a number so it is clear where it belongs.

You place the parts neatly on a cart so they can easily be transported to the next department.

You keep your workplace clean and organized.

Every day is different, as the panel sizes vary constantly. That’s why paying close attention is very important.
