Function

This position will support all production operations to optimize output and minimize waste while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards. Assist in the manufacture of quality products (per customer standards) as determined by the production schedule and or supervisor. To gain understanding of the technical knowledge required in the manufacturing process, and will continuously improve skills and productivity through teamwork. Performing housekeeping chores as needed, to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

  • As an operator you are always present on the floor and you understand the state of each compounding line, whether it is in a changeover, having issues, running well, needing maintenance assistance, etc.
  • You are following safety policies and work practices: in the areas of personal and team safety, environmental stewardship/impact, site security, and personal health
  • You are responsibility for housekeeping within shift: Practice excellent housekeeping in all areas of production
  • Be actively engaged with Lab Testing to facilitate necessary adjustments
  • Responsible for the operated equipment in the plant during assigned shift: Follow Operating Procedures, generally accepted principles, and good operating techniques

Requirements

  • Set up extrusion lines, extrusion/die head changes, monitoring all line controls & making proper adjustments, and checking dimensions/quality of product
  • Experience in the extrusion process and/or experience as a machine operator
  • Must have experience in reading production specifications
  • Good mechanical and technical aptitude is a plus
  • Examine products for fine defects and perform quality testing while maintaining production records
  • Assist in preventative maintenance of all machines and equipment
  • Ensure work is completion to standard
  • Keep area clean and equipment in good working order
  • Strong communicative skills in English, both verbally and written
  • Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, SAP)
  • VCA Basic certification (or willing to finish the course in the first 2 months of employment)
  • Preferably a (basic) training in process engineering/VAPRO A
  • Fork lift certification
  • Knowledge and experience of automated processes
  • Able to work well with others / self-motivated
  • Strong mechanical skillsust have the aptitude to follow verbal and written directions
